Hello worship means to approach the divine source for a request of something in need that you are unable to provide for yourself, Psalms 100:4. God taught us through the Bible to approach him and ask for salvation, John 3:16-21. Our hearts may not be clean, and it mars our approach to God. Maybe it does because we are not perfect and can be known to make simple mistakes of our own, Jeremiah 17:9-10. It may seem like complaining but when God looks at our habits and ways of living, well they may resemble Cain which was told to acknowledge his own heart and turn from bad, Genesis 4:7.
Cain was given a choice and told to use his own mind to make that choice and the result was that he murdered his brother. The Bible clearly says that God did not accept Cain nor his gift, Genesis 4:5. This indicates that Cain was not perceptive of any agreement in the relationship built with God, but he did approach God and also with an offering for peace. This is important information to us and helps define the quality of our faith should be superior. Now we have to identify what superior is and that is done by reading the Bible and following the laws and commandments, 1 John 5:3. This may be something that Cain did not do, or the personality of Cain was very different from Abel.
So perhaps the action of God in accepting Abel's gift was an intervention to help Cain understand that something was wrong. From God's action we know that he also accepted Abel and his gift of peace. In trying to reach Cain's heart God gave direct counsel with a choice included. By reasoning with Cain and expressing that he should do good works that will lead to people praise him for the good deeds he does. Well, the reaction of Cain surely shows us that he could not accept advice or counsel which is sad and happens to us when we are strongly influenced by our emotions that cloud our judgment, 1 Samuel 15:22. The seriousness of Cain's feelings was at a dangerous level spiritual and if he cannot calm down and think clearly sin will surely result.
