Hi, I would say yes for that is actually the real reason to get involved with religion in the first place. God has created religion as people can request salvation from God, but there are steps that are taken so that success will ensure. Professionalized religion today has ceremonies that beseech God to provide salvation to those that seriously want to have their sins removed and have heartfelt repentance because of our mistakes. These are the steps that are taken and when we look at the life of Jesus Christ written down in the Bible, we see John the Baptist using water immersion as s symbol of true repentance of sins, Matthew chapter 3.
The life story of Jesus Christ goes on to tell how he started the Christian faith by providing teaching and rules for the people to follow, 1 Peter 2:21. Once we came to terms with our own beliefs in Jesus Christ, we are told to form the new personality which is the same as Christ our Lord, Ephesians 4:20-24. In taking these necessary steps to form true Christian faith we are told to keep making sure that we have not wean in our Christian integrity, 2 Corinthians 13:5.
As time goes on, we hope to receive the reward as faithful Christians during the Second Coming of Christ when everything will be revealed, 2 Thessalonians 2:8. Our faith will be worked out and we are sure of ourselves and spirituality. What passage in the Bible gives us the information we need directly from God?
