Hi no it means that people worshiped other things as God or gave exclusive devotion to it that inspired jealousy. When people decided that they would become Christians they were supposed to follow the laws of Christianity instead they broke them, Matthew 15:3-11. Some people did not know they broke them, so they were very bold about it, Exodus Chapter 32.
When you see the Law written in the Bible: Don’t follow other gods to serve and worship them. Don’t make me furious about the idols your hands have shaped. Then I won’t harm you - Jeremiah 25:6. It does not mean someone should sit in front or behind or besides God. It means to stop being so bold about it, especially if you really are not sure, Numbers Chapter 12 and Chapter 16. Modern day idols are different than those in former times. An idol can destroy your spiritual relationship because as an example Jesus Christ did not worship idols or involve them when he worshipped God but was full of glory for his Father, John 17:6-10. That is a most important message about Jesus Christ to people. If you feel you are innocent, then the idea would be to identify the idol and remove all devotion towards it.
Revelation 4:11
Modern English Version (MEV)
11 “You are worthy, O Lord,
to receive glory and honor and power;
for You have created all things,
and by Your will they exist
and were created.”
