Hi, it is very interesting that you should ask this question, since why should a price be labeled on sin? Should people have to pay because they have committed a sin? The answer is yes because that is the best way that God can think to teach people that sin is wrong and very much so. Sin means to break the divine law given to men from God this is displayed as the Law of Moses written down in the five books of the Torah.
At the Bible story of the Exodus the laws or commandments were written with the finger of God at Mount Sinai on stone tablets carved out from a large blue sapphire, Exodus chapters 19-32. This shows its importance and the significance of how God felt about the laws. They were indeed precious to God and meant a lot to him. In the New Testament Jesus Christ confirmed with his teachings and preaching that the value of sin did not demolish one bit. But it was revealed that sin has a price and requires redemption, Hebrews 9:15-22. It was in good taste not to commit a sin period, and this is the best way to receive the gift of eternal life.
Romans 6:23
Modern English Version (MEV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
