You can't pay money for it, because it is of course a free gift from God, Romans 6:23. In the book of Revelation Jesus tells us the same using the letters to the 7 churches, Revelation 3:14-18. He tells us to buy from him real gold so that we can be rich (Integrity - Job 31:6). Clothing so that we are not naked and feel ashamed because of it (Spiritual Perceive - Revelation 16:15). Eye salve so that we can see (Laws of God - Nehemiah 9:13, Psalms 19:8).
The time of the end will produce plenty of spiritual dead people, pretending to be true Christians. This could also be a habit of human nature formed by the Church: buying forgiveness of sins, exchanging merits for a price, and a spiritual position in the church are paid for. All of these weird habits produce dead sheep and spreads false religion, Matthew 13:18-23. The only hope for release would be the Second Coming of Christ, 2 Thessalonians 2:8.
