Hi well this story indicates that Ruth converted to Judaism by marrying a Hebrew that lived in Moab. When Ruth’s husband dies, she continues to live with her mother-in-law Naomi. When it is decided to return to Israel because the word spread that God blessed the land with food, Ruth returned to Israel and left her blood family in Moab to continue to live in Israel with Naomi. The conversion of Ruth started with her husband in which the Bible says they were married for ten years, since she continued after his death to remain with his mother Naomi, she chose the Judaism faith. With plenty of time to decide with to do with her life Ruth became Jewish in all her ways and continued on to practice Judaism with Naomi. When they return to the land of Israel, she is seen as a true Judaism worshiper that was from a foreign land that was not false. She is totally accepted and remains in Israel to practice the Judaism customs. In building a fine reputation in Israel later she marries another family man of Naomi and becomes one of the ancestors of Jesus Christ.
My own life is inspired by the Book of Ruth because of her work/professional habits I saw her as a zealous woman that did well in a foreign land as a worshiper, Ruth 2:1–18. Also, a wonderful support system for Naomi as a daughter in law in place of her sons, Ruth 4:13–17. How does this story relate to Christianity and those that join this faith as converts? The faith of Jesus Christ is for those who desire salvation or a relief from the effects of imperfection. Those that practice this faith believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah and that he is the true king of the Kingdom of God that will remove sin and provide salvation to all. The Chrisitan faith is an example of how people can believe and truly convert to practice a new and different religion. When Naomi continues with Ruth, she helps guide the young woman to become a strong Judaism believer by teaching and practice this is the relationship between the two women. It must be noted that Ruth became a convert through marriage to a Judaism worshiper who displayed strong faith. In deciding to remain in the religion she goes along with her husband’s mother who guides the young woman in her quest as a Judaism convert. The moral of this story is that the woman Ruth had developed and displayed strong religious belief with and through the example of the family of Elimelech who resided in Moab as alien during the days of the Judges when there was a famine in all of Israel, Ruth 1:1–2.
