Hi, the spirit of God empowering with the spirit of humans, it is God's spirit that enabled the body to function, Genesis 2:7. The spirit continues to enable the body to operate all of our lives. When this spirit is not capable of keeping the body alive it weakens, the spirit will leave the body this is called death, Psalms 146:4. The soul is the essence that makes you everything that you are, if you want to do what is right then you will do it. The soul is the real you it is the place where your true feelings and desires come from. Once you learn more about yourself then you can see your own feelings and thoughts, a reflection of your soul.
The faith that we are told to build is based on our belief in Jesus Christ and his promises of salvation provided in the future through the Kingdom of God, Colossians 1:13-14. The building of Christian faith is different than the desire to be a good person and do what is right. All Christian must have faith within their hearts a proof of working to become sons of God. Because of imperfect we have a struggle within ourselves to do right instead of wrong, this is our soul that does not know the difference between right and wrong. Our human nature causes us to make many mistakes since we do not know our desires, passions, conquests are wrong. We are told to follow the footsteps of Christ as he was our guide and model to closely follow, 1 Peter 2:21-25. Only you can acknowledge the struggling within you to do better or keep being clean and wholesome. That is why people study and try to learn God's law since it is a righteous guide, Psalms 19:7-10.
