Hello, I believe the Scriptures say the Devil/Satan was or similar behavior as a snake by nature. We know that animals live and survive off instincts they do not think or plan in the same ways humans do, however they get food everyday sometimes thru a plan like a trap to bait their food. This is the only thing unique about animals and the way they live.
When addressing the passage of Genesis 3:1 we can find four different translations that describe the words for the serpent and why Satan looks like a similar design or make up. The Easy-to-Read version uses the word clever to describe the serpent. The Living Bible uses the word craftiest. The Modern English version uses the word subtle. The New King James version uses the word cunning. All these words describe the serpent and its ways. In other words all these things can be used to describe Satan and what we should look for in acknowledging him. The best thing to do is to understand all the words and what they mean. But what additional information does the Bible tells us about Satan, especially in the later times?
1 Peter 5:8
Living Bible
8 Be careful—watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart.
Revelation 12:12
Easy-to-Read Version
12 So rejoice, you heavens and all who live there! But it will be terrible for the earth and sea, because the devil has gone down to you. He is filled with anger. He knows he doesn’t have much time.”
