I
I recall this passage and through experience I understand this term to mean seeing if God will save you if you put your life on the line to see what he will do. It is only natural that people ask for signs or proof that God is all powerful, perhaps it is human nature because God has rejected the sinner and refuses to connect with us because of sin, John 9:31. When we ask for proof of eternal power by touching our bodies in some way it is called "tempting", Matthew 4:5-7. But the Bible does tell us that God arranges tests in order to reveal faith, it will help you learn more about yourself, James 1:12-15. This is where improvements will need to be made once discovering the real you and it is clearly seen the Bible states:
2 Corinthians 13:5
Easy-to-Read Version
5 Look closely at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith. Don’t you realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Of course, if you fail the test, he is not in you.
