2 Timothy 2:18
Names of God Bible
18 They have abandoned the truth. They are destroying the faith of others by saying that people who have died have already come back to life.
~~~~~~~
Good afternoon, this passage refers to professed Christian abandoning the truth in which they tell a lie and spread a story of a resurrection of the dead before the time has arrived. In any case the way to understand the situation is to find out if the Bible actually prophecies of a resurrection of the dead. There is a promise made by Jesus Christ in his preaching which is:
John 5:28-29
Easy-to-Read Version
28 “Don’t be surprised at this. A time is coming when all people who are dead and in their graves will hear his voice. 29 Then they will come out of their graves. Those who did good in this life will rise and have eternal life. But those who did evil will rise to be judged guilty.
~~~~~~~~~
Next you have to understand the timeline of this prophecy the information in the Bible tells of a time called the Judgment Day which is connected with the Great Tribulation and during that time those who practice good most of their life will lead to salvation and those that haven’t learned true knowledge will be given a second chance to try and gain salvation. In the Bible this time of judgment will occur at the Second Coming of Christ which is at:
Revelation 20:11-15
Names of God Bible
11 I saw a large, white throne and the one who was sitting on it. The earth and the sky fled from his presence, but no place was found for them. 12 I saw the dead, both important and unimportant people, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened, including the Book of Life. The dead were judged on the basis of what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead. Death and hell gave up their dead. People were judged based on what they had done. 14 Death and hell were thrown into the fiery lake. (The fiery lake is the second death.) 15 Those whose names were not found in the Book of Life were thrown into the fiery lake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of these passages point towards the future, and we await joyfully for the Second Coming to initiate Judgment Day the only thing to do is to wait to see what fulfillment has occurred.
What happens to our “DEAD spirits” (Rm 5:12–14; I Cor 15:21–22) if not resurrected from the dead (I Cor 15:42–44) “in this life” (I Cor 15:19) then we die physically as “DEAD spirits” when “GOD is not the GOD of the DEAD” (Mk 12:27)?
Hello again no worry what it all really means is that salvation is given out to people as it is revealed how to obtain it worldwide, 1 Peter 1:5. This will enable the body to move on towards gaining the promises made in the Bible. This enables body to refine itself and give perfection to the body, Job 33:25, Isaiah 50:4, Zephaniah 3:9, Isaiah 33:24, Isaiah 2:2–4. All passages in the Bible actually talk about this in different ways but the same point. The Bible also allows the time of the Second Coming of Christ to set matters straight and reveal what is the truth, Matthews 24:29–30.
