Genesis 15:6
Living Bible
6 And Abram believed God; then God considered him righteous on account of his faith.

Hi, I think the translation is about correct since Abraham is so old, that is not the first time that Abraham believed what was impossible. The passage is talking about faith, and it can be really hard to get people to believe. The story goes that Abraham was told to count the stars of the heavens, then he was told that he would have as many children as possible that he could not count them. Both Sarah and Abraham were very old, and his wife no longer has a menstrual cycle. But Abraham believed the moment he heard the words of God. That is exactly how faith should look, never doubting since no one can see God and why shouldn’t God’s words be true? Abraham wanted a family, and he surely wanted a large family. God gives us what we want, and he reassures us that God can make this happen for you, period. That is the relationship that we develop with God, not what God wants but what we want. Jesus Christ can help you become healthy, so healthy that you can live forever. Isn’t that what you want? Of course, so faith is based on our desires, our desire to be perfect and sound in health. What passage in the Bible teaches this as a foundation of Christian beliefs?
Hebrews 11:1
Living Bible
11 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
