What is meant by "burning in hell for eternity"? Does the Bible actually say that?

Hello, the intentions of God during Judgment Day as recorded in the Bible are of real importance to all people that read it. Since we want to know the truth and what God will plan to do to those that are unrepentant sinners. This helps many to decide exactly what they want to do with their life since all of us are sinners, Romans 5:12.

When Jesus Christ spoke of a place in ancient Israel called Gehenna, he used it as an illustration, Luke 12:5.  The best thing to do would be to identify the word Gehenna, going online it is expressed as:
Etymology. From ecclesiastical Latin gehenna, from Ancient Greek γέεννα (géenna), from Hebrew גֵּיהִנּוֹם‎ (ge'henom, “hell”, literally “valley of Hinnom”), named after the Valley of Hinnom outside Jerusalem, which was constantly filled with the waste of the city, which was then burnt. The general idea must be found in why this word Gehenna is used in the Bible. It was already noted that this word was used as an illustration. In the dictionary the word Illustration = an example serving to clarify or prove something. the action or fact of illustrating something, either pictorially or by exemplification.

Now we will return to the Bible in close review of what is spoken of at Luke 12:5 (TLV) we read:
But I will show you whom you should fear. Fear the One who, after the killing, has authority to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear this One! Okay the passage has several points of actions first its expresses that you are killed period, which indicates death. Next the passage suggests that the dead body is thrown into the Gehenna, known as a garbage dump, where a fire consumes the trash regularly. This point is used to show the disrespect given to the dead by casting the body into the trash instead of a funeral.  These are the actions that Jesus Christ warns can happen by God and that we should fear God instead of men. This point by Jesus Christ also identifies God's power as superior than men. In his teaching we learn not to fear people but rather fear God. People intimidate you with bodily harm if you break their rules, but Jesus told people that to break a Law of God will surely bring God's wrath or judgment.

Now we will address the issue of translations of the Bible, in several different translations the word kill and Hell are intertwined in the Bible versions at Name of God Bible, The Living Bible, The Easy-To-Read Bible. The example that was used in the Bible at Matthew 10:28 to express death of the human body and the soul as a picture suddenly turned into Hell a place of burning fire for people that never goes out. This is surely a translation error and not the intended meaning of God. If the illustration that was used in the Bible only meant death, then the illustration was misunderstood and misapplied in order to create a place called Hell that does not exist. In answer to the question of Hell and what it represents in God judgment, it is not applicational since the wages that sin pays are only death, Romans 6:23.  The concept of Hell is to burn a body continually as punishment for unrepented sins, but the only way to achieve this punishment is to remain alive. This is not an idea of God, nor does it fit with other passages in the Bible that explain that the dead die, their bodies cease to act, Psalms 146:4. At the Second Coming of Christ everything will be openly exposed and clearly expounded. Peace.
