The Ten Commandments
20 Now God spoke all these words, saying:
2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 You shall have no other gods before Me.
Hi the words are very simple and clear God delivered the people out of slavery in the land of Egypt. They did not deliver themselves but God did it. This explains an event in the lives of people called Israel they were Hebrews that were created into a nation by release from slavery. For this reason there should not be a rival God created by the people. This is the only lesson of the first commandment.
