Hi, the soul is the flesh of an organism, the spirit animates the physical being. Both are important because neither one can live alone by itself, the soul without the spirit cannot live because the spirit was used to bring life to the body, Genesis 2:7. For example, there is nothing more to a vegetative state of the damaged mind but there is still life in the body or machines were used to keep the systems active. This can go on for years, but the body never awakens. The conclusion only means that without the two the soul and the spirit, the body does not live correctly nor can exist without help.
